about
Laura Lee Tanner explains what inspired her to write this song:
“Living on the water can do strange things to time. One can almost stretch it into stillness through the simplest of acts, like observing dewdrops catching the light on a blade of grass on a Spring morning. Vesna, the Slavic Goddess of Spring ushered in this magical season, my first living aboard a Narrowboat on the River Lea. Living so close to Nature and falling into her rhythms is what inspired this track, which paints a scene both vibrant and tranquil, like life on the river.”
lyrics
In a quiet space
Merging into green
Home is in this place
Cradled by the trees
Nestled here below
On the water slow
Friends are passing by
Laughing as they fly
Chorus:
Put another log upon the fire
(on the fire)
While outside the trees are towering high
(towering high)
Trees & banks are green outside my window
(green outside my window)
Just sitting gazing
I can watch the grass grow
(in a quiet space)
In a quiet space
(so green)
Merging into green
(home is in this place)
Home is in this place
(the trees)
Cradled by the trees
(nestled here below)
Nestled here below
(so slow)
On the water slow
(friends are passing by)
Friends are passing by
Laughing as they fly
